Was North Korea Scary?

Since I came back from the trip to North Korea many people kept asking me the same question:“ Was it Scary being in North Korea?” “were you afraid?”

Going to North Korea was actually not scary at all ....you are on an organised trip with 3-4 tour guides and you are never left alone, so it is very difficult to be exposed to scary situations and ultimately the purpose of the trip is to show people the best North Korea has to offer.

So was I scared? NO!

..NO WAIT...

Actually, ONE thing was SCARY!

Going on a rollercoaster in a North Korean theme park was absolutely terrifying 😱

When the tour guides mentioned we were going to a theme park in Pyongyang I was super excited. I love theme parks and I couldn't say no to the opportunity of trying a rollercoaster in North Korea! How cool is that? right?

It was an old rollercoaster, perfectly functioning, with a vintage look and with a 360 loop.

Only when the train started moving I noticed that the safety bar didn't lock. I tried and tried again to push it down with no luck, it just didn't work! (apparentlly they never lock, safety is not a major concern and when I found out was already too late). I just pushed the bar strongly towards my chest hoping and praying 🙏 ...Luckily the train didn’t get stuck upside down.
